Kitchen Table

After my wife and I purchased our first home together we decided that we wanted to save ourselves a ton of money and create some of our own furniture. We found this table set on Craigslist for a modest price and saved hundreds.

This piece was a lot of hard work, but totally worth it when completed. And, we learned so much - it was truly a journey. My wife originally guided me on how she wanted it to look so she took the lead on the style. As you can see, she has a creative eye (two actually). We worked together to sand it all down to prepare it for paint and stain. This was the bulk of the work and not easy. The most complex part of this project was applying the varnish finish which took several coats and tons of patience. It came out great and now we eat around it every day.
